2021.11.30 20:30 TGMcGonigle Is it just me or is The Good Place about two seasons too long?
I'm slogging through it now. First season was great, with a great ending to lead into a promising second season. But now, I'm slogging through season 3 and it just seems like they're making it up as they go along. I'm getting a serious "Lost" vibe from the way the plot seems to carom from contrived situation to contrived situation. Is it worth watching to the end?

Try and be easy on the game they only released it in this buggy state because people wanted it early and granted this game is filled with bugs and bad physics.

2021.11.30 20:30 MightHaveMisreadThat I want a value to have increase in ever decreasing quantities based on a specific range.
I'm sorry, I don't really know the term I'm looking for. Sort of, the opposite of exponential decay.
Let's say value A is the product of value B and value C. Right now, that's how my form is set up, but it has an IF fiction which puts a cap on value A, not allowing it to exceed a particular amount. What I want, is for value A to increase more as value B is increased initially, but I want that increase to slow as it nears the limit that I already have set.
The problem is, the closest I've found is Phil Jarin's video on YouTube which discusses exponential decay and Saturation Growth(the graph for which looks just like what I want to happen) but the function he is using looks like it's dependent on multiple values on the table. I want to find a function that lets me put in two ranges of values like (0, 1000) (1,10) with 1000 being the upper limit of the curve itself, and 10 being the upper limit of the input that causes the resulting value(which would fall somewhere on the curve between 0 and 1000).
I'm sorry if this isn't specific enough, or if there is a simple answer, but I just don't even know what terms I should be searching for to find a solution. Any help would be much appreciated.
(Inaccurate)Example: A1=1(input) A2=2300, A1=2, A2= 3650, A1=3 A2=4600, etc, A1=10 A2=1000

2021.11.30 20:30 Vodrek777 The Real Solution to 6/2(1+2)!
Hello! Just wanted to clear this up for everyone! :)
The order of operations is PEMDAS. This stands for the following:
P - Parenthesis E - Exponents M - Multiplication D - Division A - Addition S - Subtraction
With this in mind, let’s solve the problem. The first step is parenthesis. The problem is 6/2(1+2), so there is one set of parenthesis. This is done first, running through the steps of PEMDAS. This results in the problem 6/2(3). Next is exponentials, although we don’t have any in this problem. Onto the next step, multiplication. When numbers are next to each other without any indication of a symbol, it is counted as multiplication. With this, we multiply the 2 and 3. 2x3 is equal to 6, so it leaves us with the equation of 6/6. The next step is division, and this will be the last. Dividing 6 by 6 equals 1. This means the real answer to 6/2(1+2) is 1.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. Have a great day!

2021.11.30 20:30 Squidpsyco [OC] NBA Week 6 Semi-Imperialism Map
Hello. This is the sixth week of my imperialism map. It’s technically semi-imperialism because it isn’t a true imperialism map because the winning team doesn’t take all of the territory from the losing team, just some of it.
If you don’t know how this works, here’s an explanation: Each team starts out with the counties closer to their arena than any other team’s. If a team beats another team, the winning team annexes a portion of the losing team’s territory. The formula for how many counties are taken is as follows: (MOV/Losing team’s points)*losing team’s counties.
A result of the formula is that it is very hard for a team to disappear completely from the map. I think this is fine because it will leave teams in the game for longer, which is more fun.
To make the map look prettier, I’ve added a few gimmicks to my algorithm here. For pieces of territory that are only 1 county, I simply just give that one county to a surrounding team. If there is a piece of territory that only has 2 contiguous counties, I sort of trade with neighboring teams to get rid of that small territory. If any of the map changes seem a little off, that’s possibly why.
Let me know if you have any feedback, I’m pretty new to this!
